Hi to All,
Well girls, if you are reading this, then you have discovered that our website if finally up and running! Special thanks to Gayle & Jackie from Pipsqueak Web Designs
who made it all happen for us. They did a fantastic job (considering they are not patchwork or crafty people) at a very reasonable price so if you have the need for a
website, I would highly recommend them!
I thought that if we have a website, it would be easier (and cheaper) for me to give you more regular updates on what's going on. The girls will be continuously updating
our site with new products but I will also be posting the mini newsletter (The Skinny 12th for want of a better name) and the club member specials as well as classlists
monthly.
We have just come back from the Bayside Handicrafts Annual Show at Hervey Bay. They put in a lot of work to make the show a huge success each year and we feel
privileged to be a part of it. This year was no exception. We met some lovely new people, impressed them in particular with our 'Sweet Valentine' Block of the Month
and even sold some lovely new machines! If you are checking our website for the first time after visiting the show, we hope you like it and you will visit often!
July is set to be a busy month for us (what's new?) Firstly, we have to do stocktake so over the next couple of weeks we will be doing a lot of clearing out of 'stuff' that
we don't want to count. This will include fabric, stamps, albums, patterns - heaps of things across all craft areas. Come in and pick up a bargain!
Kerri is visiting and will be holding a Creative Cardmaking class on Saturday 7th July. Book quickly so you don't miss out!
We will be launching our Creative 4D Embroidery Software lessons straight after Creative Sewing Club on the third Tuesday of July. This is an initiative to help all the
owners of the 4D embroidery maximise the benefits of owning it! We will have a short lunch break after sewing club and then get stuck into a 2 hour lesson on the
software. See class list for further details.
We are also very fortunate to have Jane Groves from Townsville coming in July to teach us how to get more out of our Embroidery Machines and Decorative stitches on
our normal sewing machines. The samples for the workshops are at Sew Central so pop in and check them out. The embroidery workshop will concentrate on endless
design techniques. The decorative stitching class will see you complete a 'Day Bag' and learn heaps of tips and tricks on how to achieve different results with threads,
feet, different needles etc. It doesn't matter what brand of machine you have, these classes will suit you! If you have ever thought you would like to have a go at machine
embroidery, but don't have a machine, see us and we can organise a shop machine so you can see if it is 'your thing'.
I hope you are all sewing for our Show and Tell later in the year. We want to see everything you have! The more the better!
That is about all for now,
Happy Sewing
